Trading Journal

The morning session went real well.  It feels great when a setup works perfectly.  I'm kicking myself a little bit for bailing early, but a healthy profit is still a healthy profit.

I ended up giving some back in the afternoon by trading three contracts with no setup beyond a perceived Elliott Wave count and retracement level / measured move targets. I think getting the morning session so right went to my head a little bit and made me overconfident in the count.

If anyone should know that Elliott Wave forecasts are unreliable and can be whatever you want them to be, it's me. I need to trust the indicators, because even though I ended up being wrong about the count, the afternoon trade where I had an indicator setup was still profitable.  The nice thing about building a good lead in the morning is that you can afford to be stubborn.

Still a good day all around, despite some mistakes.  The afterhours rally really surprises me, and the overnights have continued upward.  We just may be trying to fill that gap.  I'm confused about what tomorrow will bring, so hopefully we get some action tonight that will make things clearer by tomorrow morning.
